Most of these researches lean towards having more gun laws to stop crimanal activities. But in reality No matter what you say and try to do to ban and create gun laws a study came out saying that estimated 70 to 80 percent of guns used by criminals are stolen or purchased illegally. Meaning gun laws will not affect criminals and will only make them more powerful when they face an average law abiding citizen. So all and all I do not think that there is one direct and definite answer that will solve all our problems and that gun laws will be most effective but in moderation.
